Family Business Radio Hosts Interview Franchise Experts

Last month, Atlanta Business RadioX Hosts Meredith Moore and Dwayne Samples sat down with father-daughter team Phil and Leslie Kuban to talk about their experiences helping individuals and families find success through franchising.

“Leslie & Phil provided us with insight into FranNet, and the world of franchising. As a bonus, they provided us with insights into the dynamics of a successful business partnership between two strong, vibrant personalities who just happen to be daughter and father,” said Moore. Many family businesses struggle because of the family dynamics, but Leslie and Phil say they are thankful that their business has not experienced those kinds of problems. They say having defined roles helps, so they don’t have to check with each other on every decision. And while they may not always agree, they trust each other’s intentions.

In addition to sharing the details of how FranNet works for franchisors and franchisees, and how they work together, Phil and Leslie also talked about how they got into the business.

On Tuesday September 20th, 2011, Atlanta Business RadioX Host Dr. Tim Morrison sat down with author and Kennesaw State Program Director Jim Elledge to talk about the upcoming PUBLISHERS, AGENTS & MEDIA INSTITUTE, which will be hosted at KSU this October.

As the two talked, Elledge detailed the many ways that Kennesaw State University supports writers. For example, the program he directs, The Master of Arts in Professional Writing (MAPW) degree is a professional graduate degree program that prepares candidates for a wide variety of writing-related positions in business, education, publishing, and the arts. He further noted that many non-traditional students complete this program and use writing as a way to expand creativity in their current career or to transition to a new career.

Business RadioX Hosts Interview Joan Denziot of Super Sized Cycles

On Thursday August 11th, 2011, Atlanta Business RadioX Hosts Dr. Adam Shafran and Lee Kantor had a chance to chat with Joan Denziot whose Super Sized Cycles were recently featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition.

When Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition’s host and trainer Chris Powell was looking for a bike for one of his trainees, James, he turned to a good friend of the Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy Show, Joan Denizot. Joan created Super Sized Cycles when, after gaining some weight herself, she was informed that she wasn’t the right size for a bicycle.

Instead of copping an attitude, she created a positive movement of empowerment and self respect, designed innovative, comfortable bicycles able to hold 550 pounds, and set out to remind us all that “Zize”, like life, is all about attitude! She says “A surprising, overlooked solution to fitness; bicycles offer a fun, easy way to get in shape, for all sizes of bodies,” and she was happy to help Extreme contestant James Garrison bike his way to losing over 300 pounds in one year.

Business RadioX Trains Members of the Junior Achievement of Georgia Fellows Program to Host Their Own Business Radio Show

Junior Achievement Fellow Program Members from a variety of Georgia high schools spent a full day in training at the JA headquarters with Atlanta Business RadioX partners Lee Kantor and Stone Payton learning how to create their own radio show and interview business leaders.

On Saturday August 13th, 2011, Atlanta Business RadioX Partners Lee Kantor and Stone Payton and several of their radio show hosts were joined by 11 students in the Junior Achievement of Georgia for a full day training and certification at the Junior Achievement headquarters in Sandy Springs.

Business RadioX Host Dr. Tim Morrison Interviews Notorious Hacker Turned Cyber-Security Expert

On August 2nd, 2011, Atlanta Business RadioX Host Dr. Tim Morrison was joined in the studio by Ligatt Security International’s CEO and Founder, Gregory Evans.

Evans is a widely renowned cyber-security expert and author of eight books on high-tech security issues, but his now glowing reputation had an inauspicious start. In 1996 he was on the FBI’s top ten list of “wanted” computer hackers. Evans claims to have started hacking when he was in 7th grade, changing classroom grades for his friends for money. He “expanded” from there. Today Evans heads Ligatt Security International, a leader in computer security and cyber-crime investigation and appears regularly in the media as a cyber-security expert. In 2009, Evans appeared on Fox network’s “Fox & Friends,” as well as CBS news, and the world-famous Frank Ski morning radio show on Atlanta’s v103. He was also named one of Black Enterprise magazine’s Top 20 “Masters of Innovation,” and has been featured in numerous newspapers and magazines, including the LA Times, USA Today, Wells Fargo Business Journal, and JET magazine. He is the founder of National Cyber Security.

Business RadioX Broadcasts Live from Entrepreneur Advisors, Global Connect and the Ecuadorian-American Chamber Events

Atlanta Business RadioX added a new dimension to traditional business and networking events last month by incorporating a live radio broadcast and engaging attendees.

On July 15th, 2011 the EA Spotlight show set up at the Entrepreneur Advisors Symposium at the Cobb Energy Center. Hosts interviewed select Symposium attendees as they entered the Great Hall — including the event’s Keynote Speakers General Russel Honore and Atlanta Dream Owner Kathy Betty. Lisa Romine, Executive Director of Entrepreneur Advisors said “Watching Kathy Betty being interviewed on the radio by Cheyenne Cheathem, a student involved with the Junior Achievement Radio program was priceless.”

The following week Business RadioX had shows broadcasting live from two events. On July 21st, Business RadioX partnered with 200 Peachtree, The British American Business Group, Delta Airlines, and over 30 bi-national Chambers Of Commerce to celebrate, explore, and enhance international trade & investment. Business RadioX provided on-site Remote Broadcast services for the Global Connect event, interviewing dozens of business executives engaged in international trade. On July 23rd, Corporate Conversations Host, Dawn Ely interviewed over two dozen Ecuadorian-American Chamber members at their Business Expo and Fair. “I especially want to thank Lee & Stone with Business RadioX for the exceptional support they gave to me personally, to the Corporate Conversations radio show and otherwise in helping me interview and meet the right people and be a successful host and have a successful business development event.” Dawn Ely shared.
