DeKalb Business Radio Spotlights the RAISE Forum at Emory University

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – December 18, 2015) – On November 6, 2015, DeKalb Business Radio set up shop at the first ever RAISE (Retention and Advanced Investment for the Southeast at Emory) Forum for investors at Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business. Host Jason Becknell interviewed innovators and thought leaders from around the southeast as they came to DeKalb County to find the millions of dollars they need to grow their brands.

RAISE believes Atlanta can become the next hub for Entrepreneurship and is doing all it can to ensure the success of growing businesses in the Southeast with the highest potential. The Forum was organized to identify the region’s leading entrepreneurs seeking funding. RAISE is working to keep early-stage companies in the Southeast, funding them locally, and building a strong, collaborative culture in the region.

“By coming alongside the best companies to find the right backers, provide training, perfect their presentations, and introduce them to active investors, we’re increasing their chances of success,” explained Dr. Klaas Baks, Executive Director of the Emory Center for Alternative Investments & Associate Professor in the Practice of Finance at Emory University.

During the Forum, the selected entrepreneurs with post-revenue companies presented to the RAISE panel of investors, seeking an investment between $1MM and $5MM and the opportunity to learn from major university and regional business leaders. Negotiations continue to be managed between the presenters and investors as a result of the Forum.

The intention of the RAISE Forum is to bring more resources and coordination to the funding process, establish greater ties in the Southeast for the Southeast, enable more collaboration between government and the process, and create more and better outlets for good companies to get funding. Organizers are planning another RAISE Forum for the Spring and hope to make this a twice a year event at Emory.

To learn more about the RAISE Forum and hear interviews from participants of the event, tune in to DeKalb Business Radio.

Top Docs Radio on Midtown Business RadioX Spotlights the Medical Association of Georgia

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – December 17, 2015) –  On November 16, 2015, Top Docs Radio welcomed to the studio Donald Palmisano with the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) and Dr. John Rogers with Coliseum Northside Hospital. Host CW Hall led this month’s MAG special to talk about the challenges and concerns arising from recently-proposed mergers between large health insurance companies that will significantly reduce the amount of competition in the space for Georgians to choose.

Donald Palmisano is the CEO and Executive Director of MAG. The Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) is the leading advocate for physicians in the state. MAG focuses on legislative, legal and third party payer issues. Serving as the Co-Medical Director of Coliseum Northside Hospital, Dr. John Rogers is also a MAG delegate from Bibb County. The studio discussion focused on the fact that Aetna/Humana and Anthem/Cigna are in the process of merging. At the same time, health insurers are offering insurance policies to the public that do not have adequate coverage, resulting in more out of network charges by physicians.

Aetna/Humana and Wellpoint/Cigna have proposed mergers in the health insurance market. If these inadequate policies are being offered in the current environment, MAG is concerned about how patients will be negatively impacted with a further narrowing of the networks and increased physician reliance on out of network charges.

MAG recently sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice to call for it to scrutinize the mergers for antitrust violations. According to Palmisano, “We believe the mergers would reduce competition and place physicians and their patients at an even greater disadvantage as a shrinking number of health insurance companies gain increasingly-dominant positions in the marketplace.”

“Physicians have little-to-no leverage to negotiate contract terms with these multi-billion dollar conglomerates,” explained Dr. Rogers, “which are imposing take-it-or-leave-it agreements and unilateral, mid-term amendments with growing impunity.”

Gone unchecked, a few insurers will be in a position to manipulate the marketplace to institute policies that will exacerbate the physician shortage and undermine the economic viability of the practice environment in the state, and limit the accessibility of care and individual patient choice.

To learn more about MAG’s position on healthcare mergers, listen to the entire interview onTop Docs Radio.

Gwinnett Business Radio Spotlights Ryan Burton Music Group, FarraTech and Sandler Training

Co-hosts Mike Sammond and Steven Julian sat down with these guests to explore each of their respective businesses and their contributions to the Atlanta business community.

Their goal is to record music that ignites imaginations. Ryan Burton Music Group is based around a desire to help new artists with great talent and little support.

Joining in the discussion was Maria Mendillo, President and CEO of FarraTech. Formerly known as Laser Supply & Service, FarraTech was founded in 1990 and is based in Norcross, GA. Midtown Business Radio Features Brooke Beach With Kevy

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – December 10, 2015) – On November 24, 2015, Midtown Business Radio welcomed to the studio Brooke Beach with Kevy. Host CW Hall spoke with Beach about improving the e-commerce/direct marketing space.

Brooke Beach is the co-founder and CEO of Kevy, the only true email marketing automation platform built uniquely for e-commerce businesses. By combining order history and real-time behavior data, Kevy gives clients the ability to take action on insights and create personalized interactions with every shopper.

“To date, most email automation solutions such as Pardot, SalesForce, and others, focused on the B2B sector, helping businesses increase contact and ultimately, sales, with companies they’re trying to reach,” explained Beach. “And, while there have been marketing automation solutions available for B2C/Retail enterprises to similarly leverage email to contact customers to enhance sales, these solutions have traditionally offered limited data that would let that enterprise truly evaluate ROI on a per email basis in dollars and cents.”

The Kevy platform integrates with the clients’ existing e-commerce platform via java script that is embedded into the website code. Once there, it enables Kevy and the customer to track user behavior by where they go on the site, how long they stay, the products and types of products they’re viewing, and whether they buy. With this information, the retailer is able to display very behaviorally-relevant pop-up information that personalizes the experience and significantly increases conversion rates.

Additionally, the Kevy platform enables very user-specific automated email communications that are relevant to that user’s particular behavioral context. Combining these technologies results in a dramatic rise in sales from existing customers in the retailer’s database and the ability to get very targeted with discounts and marketing message.

The Owners’ Manual on Cobb Business RadioX Spotlights ARF Financial

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – November 25, 2015) – On November 9, 2015, The Owners’ Manual welcomed to the studio Laurie Ford with ARF Financial. Host John Silvey sat down with Ford to discuss commercial lending for the restaurant and retail industry.

Ford is the Vice President of ARF Financial LLC, a California licensed lender that sources business loans and lines of credit for restaurant and retail merchants in all 50 states. Since 2001, they have filled the void between traditional bank financing and less attractive venues of obtaining capital, like cash advances and taking on equity partners. “We have the ability to secure financing where most banks stop, and give merchants the ability to maintain control of their business and become more profitable by meeting their financial goals,” said Ford.

The application process is simple and straightforward resulting in 48 hour approvals and fundings in as little as 7 business days. ARF’s quick loan approval process means that a client can have a working capital loan, line of credit, bridge loan or mezzanine loan or restaurant loan in days, not months, and without the need for collateral.

Ford brings with her almost 20 years of experience in restaurant financing. As a loan officer for restaurants, she helps navigate through the process of obtaining a bank loan. Her background gives her the ability to help clients grow their business with the use of capital ARF makes available when traditional financing is not available. “Having lived in Atlanta for more than 15 years,” explained Ford, “I have a great understanding of the market, community and needs of the restaurants I support.”

Content Is Not King

trust-me-563x320

Let’s Face It . . . Content can be a real burden to create, an unwelcome interruption to receive — and so many Content Marketing strategies are the business equivalent of a single guy walking into the same bar every Friday night, throwing his hands up and announcing to the crowd at the top of his lungs . . .

“I’m rich, I’m smart, I’m good looking . . . and I’m available.” — then rushing home to wait by the phone for Miss Right to call.

Content Is Not King — not in my arena, and probably not in yours . . .

Results Is King.

Better Results In Less Time is the ideal King, and the coin of the realm is Relationship. This precious currency is backed by the Trust you’ve earned from genuinely serving your market, your community, and your profession.

Now you’re not going to hear many Media Execs talk about Better Results In Less Time, because it’s inextricably tied to a topic only a precious few of us are willing to address head on . . . Return On Investment.

What you’re more likely to see and hear — especially from those who want you to write them a check or those defending the last check you wrote — are words like impressions, cost per thousand, circulation, traffic, clicks, viewers, listeners, followers, subscribers, downloads, ratings . . . just about anything other than Actual Increase In Volume & Pace Of New Revenue.

The next time you find yourself in a conversation or reviewing documentation including words like these — please recognize . . .What you’re experiencing here is the pretty assistant spinning the box while the crafty magician sneaks out the trap door.

If you’re a B2B Exec . . .

Buying air time or column inches from Big Media to reach a pre-existing audience simply will not equip you to genuinely serve your market — at least not very efficiently. You don’t have a relationship with these anonymous “eyes & ears”– and most importantly, you don’t have their trust — their hearts & minds.

Of course, if you hang in there long enough and spend enough money, you might eventually see some modest results — just as our single friend boldly advertising at his local bar might eventually meet Miss “Right Now” if not Miss Right.

Betting on this formula — Relying on Big Media “faux metrics” to deliver meaningful results — seems to me like an unnecessary “long shot” for all, and cost-prohibitive for most.

Back To My World, and maybe yours — Helping B2B Execs Serve Their Market And Grow Their Business . . .

Results in our arena are built on Relationships and Trust. One Trusted Relationship is worth a thousand, or ten thousand, or even a hundred thousand impressions, clicks, website visits, whatever. With Trusted Relationship as the foundation, Content is gratefully received, implicitly trusted, and liberally shared.

Now content becomes a marvelous tool for removing the friction and shrinking the timeline for your sales & marketing strategy.  You’re serving and selling with genuine insight — enjoying true peer to peer relationships, solving real problems, capitalizing on real opportunities.  And you’re doing it all better, faster, cheaper  . . .

Producing Better Results In Less Time.

Our thing — The Business RadioX ® platform — does this really well, especially for B2B Execs who want to “Own Their Backyard”. You can get a little insight into How and Why it works so well at MyBRX.com. And you can access thousands of hours of practical content on virtually any business topic you can imagine at BusinessRadioX.com.

But our clients aren’t the only ones building their businesses on Trusted Relationships, and crafting their strategies to serve that discipline.

There are other organizations out there executing authentic Content Marketing strategies — serving intentional, engaged audiences, seeing organic results, and enjoying actual Return On Investment. You probably know a few, because this is the content you look forward to receiving — and in some cases, the firms you trust with your own time and money.

I particularly like the way these folks explain it . . .

As you continue to seek out these resources, I hope you’ll seriously consider the idea that Content Is Not King — that you’ll try to resist the allure of Big Media “faux metrics,” that you’ll choose to build your business on Trusted Relationships, and never again let someone tell you that you cannot expect to see or accurately measure actual Return On Investment from your marketing dollars. You can, and you should.

And if there’s anything I can do to help you think it through — whether it involves a conversation about our services or not . . . I’m at your disposal:
