On The Money Radio on Gwinnett Business RadioX Spotlights Job Creators Network

DULUTH, GA–(Marketwired – February 17, 2016) – On The Money Radio welcomed to the studio Alfredo Ortiz and Elaine Lutz with Job Creators Network. Host Joe Moss led these guests in a discussion regarding educating employers and employees.

Job Creators Network (JCN) is a nonpartisan organization founded by entrepreneurs like Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus who believe the best defense against bad government policy is a well-informed public.

“Bernie Marcus started with one store in Atlanta,” explained Ortiz. “He was a small business owner. He believes that if he ever tried to recreate Home Depot today, he wouldn’t be able to be successful in this environment of over-regulation and over-taxation. He founded JCN because of his concern that small business owners wouldn’t be able to repeat the success he had.”

JCN’s nonpartisan E2E program is strictly focused on empowering individuals through basic public policy education. JCN strongly supports the right of every employee to empower themselves with as much public policy information as possible, and more importantly the right of every individual to think for themselves and make their own private decisions regarding what to do with that information.

The JCN E2E program gives employers simple tools to talk to their employees about government policy. They break things down with easy to understand videos, blog posts, infographics and social media posts. All of it can be easily viewed at InformationStation.org.

To learn more about the Job Creators Network, listen to the entire interview at On The Money.

CEO Exclusive Radio on Business RadioX Spotlights TIGER 21

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – February 03, 2016) – On January 12, 2016, CEO Exclusive Radio welcomed to the studio Dr. Klaas Baks and Steve Freedman with TIGER 21. Host Soyini Coke sat down with these guests to discuss how to ensure children are ready to effectively manage wealth when the time comes, learning responsible philanthropy, as well as expanding investment potential.

Dr. Baks is the Atlanta Chair of TIGER 21, North America’s premier peer-to-peer learning network for high-net-worth investors. TIGER 21’s approximately 380 members collectively manage more than $27 billion and are entrepreneurs, inventors and top executives focused on improving investment acumen, as well as exploring common issues of wealth preservation, estate planning and family dynamics. In addition to working with TIGER 21, Baks is a professor at Goizueta Business School at Emory, and Freedman is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and had successful exits from a number of companies.

One of the things that stood out in the interview was the attention TIGER 21 gives to family dynamics. In general, children are not taught how to be financially successful. There aren’t classes in most schools on how to be wealthy. When you’ve gone through all the time and trouble to become a multi-millionaire, how can you be sure your kids are ready for the responsibility to inherit and nurture your legacy?

According to Dr. Baks, “One of the key things in order to help the next generation be financially successful is to have them understand wealth and what comes with it, the responsibilities that come with it…it’s one of the things that successful families do.”

Also discussed were the ways the newly wealthy can learn from one another about investments. Most people have one basic way they know how to invest. Having close-knit, honest relationships with other people in similar financial situations can expand knowledge and comfort with different styles of investment, allowing true diversification.

Philanthropy is also a learned skill for those who have successfully built companies from the ground up, and who are stepping back from their CEO roles. TIGER 21 members support each other as they learn to target the causes they are passionate about, and find responsible organizations who are capable of utilizing funds to make a difference in those areas.

To learn more about TIGER 21, listen to the entire interview on CEO Exclusive.

Pensacola Business Radio Spotlights Steve Speaks

PENSACOLA, FL–(Marketwired – December 29, 2015) – On November 18, 2015, Pensacola Business Radio welcomed to the studio Professional Speaker Steve Wilmer. Host Keith Hoffert sat down with Wilmer to learn about his passion for public speaking that led to the development of Steve Speaks.

As founder of Steve Speaks, Steve Wilmer has built a reputation around being passionate, motivated, energetic, inspiring, practical, talented, humorous, relevant, and enthusiastic. Health Connect South Radio on Midtown Business RadioX Spotlights the Sharing Spaces Program

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – December 28, 2015) – On December 16, 2015, Health Connect South Radio welcomed to the studio Wende Parker with the Cobb-Douglas Department of Public Health and Mark Anderson with the Cobb County School District. Host CW Hall sat down with these guests to learn more about Sharing Spaces and Power Up for 30, programs under the Cobb 2020 Initiative.

The Cobb 2020 initiative, created and implemented by the Cobb-Douglas Department of Public Health under the direction of Dr. Jack Kennedy, aims to address a number of public health concerns that erode level of health and quality of life for many of the over 850,000 resident who live there. The Sharing Spaces program and Power Up for 30 program both aim to facilitate more physical activity among student-aged populations.

Childhood obesity is rising among young people at alarming rates. According to the American Heart Association, about one in three American kids and teens is overweight or obese, nearly triple the rate in 1963. Among children today, obesity is causing a broad range of health problems that previously weren’t seen until adulthood. These include high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and elevated blood cholesterol levels. There are also psychological effects: obese children are more prone to low self-esteem, negative body image and depression. And excess weight at young ages has been linked to higher and earlier death rates in adulthood.

Wende Parker serves as the District Director of Chronic Disease & Injury Prevention for the Cobb-Douglas Department of Public Health. Parker works closely with Mark Anderson, Supervisor, Health & Physical Education with the Cobb County School District, to manage the Sharing Spaces and Power Up for 30 programs.

“The Sharing Spaces program seeks to partner with community organizations that have playgrounds, gyms, tracks and trails, giving area residents access to these resources, particularly young people,” explained Parker. “In this way, the community will see declines in rates of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and others, and students enjoy academic performance upticks to boot.”

To learn more about these Cobb 2020 Initiative programs, listen to the entire interview on Health Connect South Radio.
