The Owners’ Manual on Cobb Business RadioX Spotlights ARF Financial

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – November 25, 2015) – On November 9, 2015, The Owners’ Manual welcomed to the studio Laurie Ford with ARF Financial. Host John Silvey sat down with Ford to discuss commercial lending for the restaurant and retail industry.

Ford is the Vice President of ARF Financial LLC, a California licensed lender that sources business loans and lines of credit for restaurant and retail merchants in all 50 states. Since 2001, they have filled the void between traditional bank financing and less attractive venues of obtaining capital, like cash advances and taking on equity partners. “We have the ability to secure financing where most banks stop, and give merchants the ability to maintain control of their business and become more profitable by meeting their financial goals,” said Ford.

The application process is simple and straightforward resulting in 48 hour approvals and fundings in as little as 7 business days. ARF’s quick loan approval process means that a client can have a working capital loan, line of credit, bridge loan or mezzanine loan or restaurant loan in days, not months, and without the need for collateral.

Ford brings with her almost 20 years of experience in restaurant financing. As a loan officer for restaurants, she helps navigate through the process of obtaining a bank loan. Her background gives her the ability to help clients grow their business with the use of capital ARF makes available when traditional financing is not available. “Having lived in Atlanta for more than 15 years,” explained Ford, “I have a great understanding of the market, community and needs of the restaurants I support.”

Top Docs Radio on Midtown Business RadioX Explores Self Funded Insurance Plans

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – November 19, 2015) – On November 9, 2015, Top Docs Radio welcomed to the studio Alan Conner with My Professional CFO. Host CW Hall sat down with Conner to discuss self funded insurance plans for contractor physicians.

Conner is a tax and accounting expert who works with a wide range of companies and professionals, including physicians. He founded My Professional CFO to take the mystery out of small business accounting, tax planning, and wealth management so a professional can focus their entrepreneurial energy on growing business and satisfying clients.

In addition to providing basic accounting and payroll functions, Conner also helps physicians develop effective, legal tax strategies, including self funded insurance plans to reduce their tax burden and risk at the same time. “Many physicians work as 1099 contractors for the respective practice they serve,” explained Conner. “In this relationship, the doctor receives a gross paycheck with no tax withheld. In this situation it is vital for the provider to plan for their tax obligation and pay it in a timely fashion or they face between 5-10% penalties, which can quickly add up to significant amounts, based on the numbers they’re working with.”

Conner shared with listeners several options available to physicians that work as 1099 contractors, including self funded insurance plans, pension plans, SEP IRA’s, and others, that will help them preserve their hard-earned revenue for later while protecting them from risk such as loss of medical license should that occur.

The town of Vinings is located in Cobb County alongside the Chattahoochee River and ten miles northwest of Downtown Atlanta. Originally home to many ferry stations along the river in the 1800’s, Vinings is home to rich history that helped build Atlanta and Cobb.

The Solomon and Penelopy Pace House was built with the remains of the 17-room antebellum home of Vinings founder Hardy Pace. Today, The Pace House plays host to weddings and other celebrations. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

The Old Pavilion was originally built as an open-air structure in 1874 by the Western & Atlantic Railroad. In 1995, it was moved to the grounds of The Pace House where it is used for community events, weddings, receptions and parties.

The third property protected by the VHPS is The Yarbrough House, built in 1880 and inhabited by the Pace family for over a century. Over the years, it operated as a tea house and restaurant. Presently, the VHPS has undertaken the mission of restoring the building to its original historical floor plan and outfitting it with original 1880s period furniture.

On the Money Radio on Gwinnett Business RadioX Features Singer-Songwriter Joey Stuckey

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – November 06, 2015) – On October 21, 2015, On The Money welcomed to the studio Joey Stuckey. Host Joe Moss sat down with Stuckey to talk about the exciting world of the music industry and why music is so important to business.

Joey Stuckey is the owner and president of Joey Stuckey Music & Shadow Sound Studios. Stuckey is an award-winning blind guitarist, songwriter, singer, composer, producer, radio and television personality, music columnist, educator and sound engineer. He is also the official music ambassador for his home town of Macon, Georgia. Stuckey’s guitar style is reminiscent of rocker Jeff Beck and jazzer Wes Montgomery, while his vocal influences range from Mel Torme to Gregg Allman.

Stuckey is currently involved with students, instructing them on guitar, voice, music theory, and sound engineering. He is the professor of Music Technology at Mercer University and an official mentor for the Recording Connections School in Los Angeles. Recently, Stuckey has taken on the role of music publisher and has a growing catalog of songs in multiple genres. His publishing companies include Sociology Publishing (BMI) and Sign Wave Publishing (ASCAP).

As a musician and business owner, Stuckey has a unique approach to his music. “You have to figure out who your audience is so you do have to kind of label things. But I just love to play music — I love country, I love rock, I love classical, I love jazz. That’s the blessing of being a recording engineer and producer because I get to play so many different styles of music.”

Stuckey spoke directly to the business of music and how it correlates to business in general. “There’s a wonderful military saying that says ‘No great plan withstands contact with the enemy.’ I’ve taken that mantra and I use it in my business. Just because I have a good plan that makes sense and sounds like it’s good, by the time we actually interact with people who are dynamic and not static, just because a good plan doesn’t work doesn’t mean you’re doing the wrong thing. You just need to be flexible and be able to try and do something different.”

Stuckey treated listeners to his rendition of “Georgia On My Mind.” To hear him perform, as well as talk more about his music background and career, listen to the entire interview at On The Money.

And of course, Mr. Ellis saw it differently, and the last five years they’ve spent tens of millions of dollars renovating every single store in Chamblee and the area has just really come alive and it’s an exciting time for us.”
